ScreenArk Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 6, 2026

ScreenArk: AI Recall helps you turn selected screenshots into private, searchable memory cards. This policy explains what information is processed when you use ScreenArk.

What stays on your device

Screenshot images stay on your device. ScreenArk uses local OCR to read text from screenshots you choose to import. You control which screenshots are imported.

ScreenArk AI processing

ScreenArk asks for your permission before sending personal data to server AI. If you allow ScreenArk AI data sharing, ScreenArk sends extracted OCR text and related memory metadata to the ScreenArk AI server operated by ScreenArk. Related metadata may include generated titles, summaries, categories, tags, detected details, suggested actions, Recall source snippets, collection snippets, and Pro Deep Analysis context. Full screenshot image files are not sent to the ScreenArk AI server.

The ScreenArk AI server may share that OCR text and related metadata with the AI model providers used to provide the requested feature, currently OpenAI or DeepSeek depending on server configuration. These providers are used only to provide ScreenArk AI features and are expected to protect the data with the same or equivalent safeguards. ScreenArk does not use this data for advertising or tracking.

Free AI quota

Free AI analysis uses an anonymous install identifier to count successful AI analyses for the monthly free limit. The identifier is hashed before it is stored with the month and usage count. It is not used for advertising or tracking.

Pro subscription verification

If you subscribe to ScreenArk Pro, the app may send App Store transaction information to the ScreenArk AI server to verify that Pro access is active before paid AI features run. Payments and billing are handled by Apple.

Support

If you contact support or use Report an Issue in the app, we receive the information you choose to include in your message, such as your email address and description of the issue. If you choose to include diagnostics, ScreenArk may send app version, build number, iOS version, device model, locale, and the app area where the issue happened. Screenshot images, OCR text, and memory contents are not attached to support reports unless you type them into your message.

Tracking and advertising

ScreenArk does not use third-party advertising SDKs and does not sell your personal information. ScreenArk does not use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Data retention

Memory cards and screenshot details are stored locally in the app. The ScreenArk AI server processes OCR text and related metadata to provide the requested AI result. Operational logs and quota records may be kept for security, debugging, reliability, and abuse prevention.

Your choices

You can choose Not Now when ScreenArk asks for AI data-sharing permission. If you do not allow it, server AI features are off and ScreenArk uses local OCR and local suggestions only. You can change this choice later in Settings. You can delete memories in the app. You can also contact support for privacy questions or deletion requests related to support messages.
